The basis of the artistic practice of Pedro Matos (1989) is an ongoing research into the ephemeral and decay – ideas he finds present in both the urban landscape and nature itself, from marks involuntary created by human activity to those produced by way of natural phenomena. In the form of meticulous pieces, the artist has been exploring the intricate complexity of abstract textures and detailed fragments situated in the border between abstraction and representation. He has exhibited in both solo and group shows in Portugal and abroad and is represented in several public and private collections in Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia.
