Nuno Viegas // NaLata Festival

In October 2024, Underdogs, supported by DGArtes, took Portuguese artists Tamara Alves and Nuno Viegas to São Paulo, Brazil, for the NaLata Festival, one of the world’s premier celebrations of public art. Their striking murals added two new international interventions to the Underdogs Public Art Programme, leaving a lasting impression in the vibrant neighbourhood of Pinheiros.

On Rua dos Pinheiros, Nuno Viegas presented a mural from his Straight Outta Wall series, blending the raw aesthetics of graffiti with his refined visual style. This piece captures the essence of graffiti culture while exploring its relationship with contemporary art. Through striking contrasts and carefully composed elements, Viegas highlights the enduring dialogue between the urban environment and the artistic narratives it inspires.
