Heather Benjamin (b. 1989) is an American artist based in New York City. Her work reflects her interest in Japanese anime and manga, particularly Sailor Moon, and explores the complex duality of being a woman through her original avatar-characters.

Academic Carrer

Heather Benjamin obtained a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.

Professional Carrer

Heather Benjamin has exhibited her work in solo shows at Muddguts (NYC), These Days (LA), and Commune (Tokyo). Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions at Jeffrey Deitch (LA), New Image Art (LA), Andrew Edlin (NY), Invisible Exports (NY), Mana Contemporary (NJ), Freight + Volume (NY), and Hashimoto Contemporary (SF).
