Established in 2010 and consolidated in its present form in 2013, Underdogs works with a diversified roster of Portuguese and international artists connected with the urban inspired contemporary art universe, fostering the development of close relationships between creators, the public, and the city with the aim of promoting art as an everyday experience.
Born in Romania and based in Lisbon since 2002, Russo began his artistic journey through graffiti as a member of the 1003PV crew, where he developed a strong connection to urban culture and collective identity. His practice has since expanded into photography, traditional printing techniques and installation, exploring the relationship between public space, memory and transformation. Through the interaction of image, material and time, Russo turns overlooked fragments of everyday life into physical records of places and moments that might otherwise disappear.
