Art Dunk presents the creations of 12 contemporary artists who were challenged to reinterpret and intervene on basketballs used in games of the Liga Betclic competitions. Designed to promote the sustainable repurposing of these objects, which must be renewed annually for regulatory reasons, this initiative is also, and above all, a testament to the driving power of art as a motor for social transformation, with revenues going towards the refurbishment of a public basketball court.
Arashida, Confeere, Fiumani, Hélio Bray, João Varela, Kruella D'Enfer, Maria Imaginário, Mariana A Miserável, Ruído, Tamara Alves, Tiago Evangelista, and Vai Dar Pitanga embraced this challenge with artworks that highlight each artist's creative and aesthetic visions. Through a variety of techniques and materials, these artists imagined new configurations for this utilitarian object, to which a conceptual meaning and framework are now conferred. The result reflects an abundance of inspiration, condensed into a unique, distinctive, and captivating collection of artworks.
