Established in 2010 and consolidated in its present form in 2013, Underdogs works with a diversified roster of Portuguese and international artists connected with the urban inspired contemporary art universe, fostering the development of close relationships between creators, the public, and the city with the aim of promoting art as an everyday experience.
This series of works was conceived and developed after a stay in Medellín, where Man's integration with the surrounding Nature is revealed and takes on an expression with a pronounced intensity. For its purity and simplicity. For its proximity and the complicity it induces. The images represented in the works constitute an ode to the moments experienced in this context and reflect the influence of its manifestation.
The blue that dominates these works symbolises both the singularity of the artist's perspective when interpreting what he sees and portrays but also, by resorting to a colour scheme that evokes the night, conveys an expression of melancholy and solitude which the inner path followed by the artist involved.
