Established in 2010 and consolidated in its present form in 2013, Underdogs works with a diversified roster of Portuguese and international artists connected with the urban inspired contemporary art universe, fostering the development of close relationships between creators, the public, and the city with the aim of promoting art as an everyday experience.
Underdogs paired up with Ephemeral Ethernal to curate the kick-off event for "Porto Art Square", an innovative new initiative promoted by the GFH real estate group, which will transform an iconic factory building in Porto into an avant-garde artistic, residential and commercial hub, and that will also house the headquarters of the José Rodrigues Foundation.
To mark the launch of this ambitious project, Underdogs and Ephemeral Ethernal invited Portuguese artists Noah Zagalo, Pedrita Studio and Projeto Ruído to develop a series of phygital art installations, capturing the creative spirit of the space and paying homage to its fascinating history.
