The Editory by the Sea

2020

Underdogs partnered up with The Editory Hotel in the Troia Peninsula in an initiative to promote national contemporary art in close connection with the theme of environmental sustainability.

Portuguese visual artist Tamara Alves was invited to create three different interventions within this new space, mirroring these ideas while expressing her unmistakable and unique creative aesthetic, resulting in a large-scale mural for the main lobby, two watercolour works for the entrance and six artist editions for the rooms.

ECO DE UM CORPO NA CAL VIVA

"The vegetation covers this place where it grows, silence occupies us, birds spend the night in our melancholic heart and we have one last look around the hotel room, at what we're leaving behind."- Tamara Alves

TROIA I & II

These watercolour paintings are an interpretation of the Troia experience, bringing a little of what we leave when we check into the hotel, a little of what we can observe and recognize, keep in our memory, both colours and smells. A short immersive experience that triggers the observer's awareness of the surrounding environment.
