Estrada da Luz (intersection with Av. General Norton de Matos), Lisbon
- D*Face
Portugal, 2026
Exploring themes of love, trust, and emotional vulnerability, D*Face uses the mural’s spatial context to introduce a narrative centred on human connection. In Heartbreak Highway, familiar figures appear in moments of intimacy and reflection, inviting viewers to consider how relationships shape our sense of direction.
The composition operates through contrast: softness and strength, affection and fragility, permanence and impermanence. Rather than opposing these forces, the work brings them into balance, focusing on connection as both a grounding force and a source of risk.
Installed on either side of a bridge – an architectural symbol of passage – the mural engages directly with its surroundings. It mirrors the transitions we experience in relationships and in life, framing connection as something in constant movement, shaped by change, distance, and proximity.
