Alex Fakso (1977) is a London-based photographer who started out as a graffiti writer in his native Italy in the 1990s but one day swapped spray cans for his camera. He has been documenting closely the illegal train graffiti scene ever since, passionately capturing its underworld narrative of clandestine missions in yards and subway tunnels around the world. His gaze has also fallen upon several other subjects from fashion to scenes of daily life in the urban environment. He has contributed to several magazines and newspapers, published books and taken part in several solo and group exhibitions in various countries.
