Filippo Minelli

Filippo Minelli (b. 1983) is an Italian contemporary artist working internationally, analysing and researching landscape, politics, and communication to create installations and performances documented through photography and video. His work is based on a nomadic practice mainly focused on peripheral geographic areas. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan, in New Media (2006), his academic education went alongside unauthorized interventions in the public space, which characterised his early artistic practice. Interested in landscape and the public sphere, his work is mostly addressed at challenging the role of identity and its narratives, both in the physical and digital environments. He has been travelling and developing his art projects in multiple countries around the world, as well as exhibiting his work in numerous solo and group shows in reputed galleries and institutions since 2005.
