A mythological figure combining human and animal characteristics takes centre stage in Aegipan, bringing an unusual presence into Pantónio’s visual universe. Unlike the animals that populate much of his work, often carried along by sweeping currents of movement, this lone figure moves back and forth on a swing, adding a distinctly human gesture to the composition.
Pantónio’s recurring animals tend to merge into larger compositions, blurring the boundaries between individual forms. Aegipan turns instead towards a more solitary experience. Through fluid lines and elongated forms, the artist captures the rhythm of this repeated motion while keeping the energy and tension that define his practice.

Three birds circle a tree, each following a different trajectory: one appears to follow, another twists, while the third seems to escape or lead the way. Together, their movements form a shared rhythm, capturing the delicate balance between individual freedom and collective behaviour.
Drawing on Pantónio's recurring exploration of the natural world as a reflection of human relationships, Birds considers the subtle dynamics of belonging to a group while maintaining one's own direction. Through his fluid lines and elongated forms, the artist brings these interactions to life in a composition where harmony and tension coexist, leaving the relationships between the figures open to interpretation.
