Created through the artist’s distinctive process of designing custom knitted garments that merge with their surroundings, the work transforms portraiture into a playful exercise in concealment and revelation.

At its center is musician and collector Fatboy Slim, photographed against one of the most recognizable symbols of popular culture: the smiley face. Long associated with rave culture, optimism, and collective experience, the smiley also reflects the subject’s own passion for collecting and preserving its many forms.
