Charlie Edmiston is a Los Angeles–based artist whose bold compositions are shaped by his background in graffiti and design. Despite being colorblind, he meticulously studies color relationships, developing palettes that emphasize harmony and contrast. His work often references architecture and sculpture through strong geometric forms and vibrant surfaces.
Traveling across upstate New York, Charlie Edmiston discovered lush forests and expansive sculpture parks that challenged his sense of scale. Inspired by monumental abstract forms, he focused on purity of shape and color. The print centers on floating geometric elements drawn from observed landscapes, emphasizing simplicity over density. Through carefully selected hues and spatial restraint, the work reflects how exposure to large-scale abstraction can refine perspective, transforming travel impressions into distilled visual impact.
