Mar Figueroa is an Ecuadorian-born painter based in New York. Her work explores identity through surreal autobiographical imagery that bridges cultural influences from North and South America. Drawing on Andean symbolism and personal narrative, Figueroa creates dreamlike compositions where figures and environments merge, reflecting the complexities of living between cultures.
Surrounded by the dramatic contrasts of Olympic National Park, Mar Figueroa reflected on nature’s power and shared artistic community. Puma tracks in the snow served as a reminder of human fragility within vast landscapes. Inspired by collective energy among fellow artists, she created a composition where figures and environment intertwine.
