Anna Valdez is an American artist based in Sacramento whose work investigates cultural identity through still-life compositions. Using painting, collage, and printmaking, she explores the relationship between personal memory and historical artifacts. Her practice often incorporates plants, textiles, and domestic objects as tools for visual storytelling and archival reflection.
In Anchorage, Anna Valdez expanded her exploration of material culture and identity through observation of landscape and domestic detail. Drawing from her practice of cataloguing objects and environments, she translated Alaskan impressions into layered still-life compositions. The print reflects her method of connecting place with personal narrative, weaving pattern, flora, and collected references into a cohesive arrangement. Through careful color and structure, the work embodies how travel becomes archived memory, transformed into a visual inventory of experience.
