Sobekcis is the collaborative practice of twin brothers from Belgrade, Serbia. Emerging from graffiti culture, they developed a distinctive visual language that deconstructs lettering into abstract gestures. Their work explores the tension between chaos and structure through bold forms, textured surfaces, and dynamic compositions that bridge street art, abstraction, and contemporary painting.
Returning to Amsterdam, the twin brothers of Sobekcis revisited a formative city in their artistic journey. Experiencing its museums, public sculptures, and calm architecture through new eyes reshaped their perception. Inspired by monumental forms and contrasting textures, they created a sculptural composition marked by bold gestures and vibrant color. The print balances aggression and harmony, reflecting both their graffiti roots and refined abstraction. It captures a dialogue between past and present, where memory and renewed curiosity collide in a dynamic visual statement.
